Common Misconceptions About Electricity
- A single substance-like entity called electricity exists
- There are only 2 kinds of electricity (static electricity and current electricity) and they are opposites.
- In an electric current, charges flow inside wires at the speed of light. Actually, charges flow at inches per hour.
- "Current" and "static" are substances. The only substance is electrons and protons.
- Belief that a phenomenon is "made of electricity", when the phenomena is really just electrical. "We shouldn't say lightning is made of electricity. That's like saying clouds are made of weather."
